ITEM: NatureHolic Proteinfeed, Shrimp FoodCOMMENTS: Unfortunately I was only able to test for a limited time (approximately a week). See ‘pros’ for details why.PROS:- My freshwater invertebrates (mystery snail, rabbit snails, and ghost shrimp) all enjoyed these pieces (didn’t race to them on sight – that could be a exposure time issue – but consistently finished them nearly right away). Unfortunately, they only got a limited run of them. Turns out these double as cat treats that will cause a fish supply cabinet break-in and packaging bits being spread around.- I really like the smaller pieces. I feel like so many of the food options are just too large and don’t break-up well.- The pieces hold together well after introduction, which is great considering quickly disintegrating food is another pet peeve of mine. I’m not actually sure how long it would take them, as they were finished before each time I introduced a piece.NEUTRALS:- Probably best for small tanks (<15gal) or feeding in multiple spots/foraging style in anything larger.CONS:- Bag is not cat proof. /sGIFTABILITY: (All of my packages are sent with Prime Delivery Day and manufacturer’s packaging preference selected. This may impact how things are shipped and cause my packaging experience to differ from yours.) It came in Amazon shipping packaging (a padded envelope). The treats were in a high quality, branded, and resealable pouch. I would say it’s directly giftable with gift wrap optional but not necessary.WOULD I PURCHASE? (Any prices noted are as of the time of writing): Yes, I was pleased with these. I find the list price of $9.99 fair for what’s received, the water bugs seem to enjoy it (and at least one of the cats), and I appreciate the smaller size and tank longevity without disintegrating. I’ll be purchasing one - and a lockbox - to give them another go.My rating system is: 5 = no/minimal complaints, very pleased 4 = minor complaints, overall satisfied, but could be better 3 = notable complaints, overall average to ‘meh’ 2 = significant complaints, unhappy and will not keep/use 1 = entirely complaints, misleading descriptions, straight to the trash product.
